Raynen Bajette Amos
Listening Instruction: Walk or move along the path behind the library. Let your eyes wander. Look up, rest if you need to.
What is happening?
Make your way to the grassy opening. Sit, or wander into the small library.
Continue your day or rest, perhaps with a lingering imprint.
Artist Statement: I was exploring place as portal, implications of connectedness and slippery time and weather boundaries.
I chose the place so-called Stanmore reserve and library, which is cornered by the train line and hemmed by two roads.
As I was writing I was paying attention to memory as transitional time; also, the way place holds living archive, echoing present, and points and trajectories of imaginative and speculative departure. I approached the recording as a time capsule of place-moments, and their interfaces.
